  2. @Terri I won't translate the entire thing exactly, but it basically says:

    "Period fashion at American east coat private schools (the Ivy League). Therefore the trend is called 'Ivy.' It is based in part on the "Sports Style" of England combined with a 'main item' jacket made with natural shoulders, no front darts, and flap pockets."

    Yes, Ivy is a trend in Japan, and has been on and off since the late 1960s. CC has covered it in some detail over at Ivy Style. There is an entire magazine called Free & Easy devoted to Ivy Style and the like menswear.

  3. I find the Japanese take on fashion to be quite fascinating. I quite enjoy the photos you've posted of people on the streets of Japan. This post was also very interesting -- thank you for the translation.
